Goal
Learn what to consider when choosing an apprenticeship.
When looking for the right path that will best serve your career and personal goals, it will be important to create space to facilitate opportunity!
Use the tools available to you to find different opportunities. Visit The Official USA Apprenticeship Finder to find different local opportunities. Use job search websites like Indeed, Zip Recruiter, and CareerBuilder to see what opportunities are available and talk to people you know in trades. To find apprenticeships on these websites make sure to use keywords like: apprenticeship or entry-level.
Apply to the apprenticeship programs you are interested in. Some opportunities may be more competitive than others so the more programs that you apply to, the more opportunities you will have to find one that is the right fit for you.
Talk to other people. If you know people in the trade you are considering, talk to them. If you do not know anyone in the trade you are interested in, reach out to someone like a person who teaches at a trade school or apprenticeship. This will allow you to hear someone else’s first-hand experience and make connections to people who may be able to support you during your career journey.
